The Minahasa peninsula is an interesting destination for visitors who are interested in wildlife watching. The rainforest of Tangkoko Nature Reserve in Bitung municipality is the habitat of various species of mammals, birds, reptiles, and insects. 

To see the wildlife of Tangkoko Nature Reserve, visitors need to walk into its forest. The best time to do that is early in the morning from 06:00 to 09:00 and from 15:00 to 18:00.
